Prayer Guide

Thank you for committing to pray with us for our nation and the upcoming election. This prayer guide will help direct your time in prayer as we seek God’s will for our country. Each prayer prompt is rooted in biblical truth and guided by a desire to see America reflect the values of life, liberty, and righteousness.

1. Pray for Our Nation’s Leaders and Government

  • Scripture Focus: 1 Timothy 2:1-2 – "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."

  • Prayer Focus:

    • Pray for wisdom and discernment for those currently in office as well as for those running for election.

    • Ask God to guide the hearts of our elected officials, that they may govern with integrity, justice, and humility.

    • Pray that leaders who uphold biblical values, especially the sanctity of life and religious freedom, would be elected.

 

2. Pray for the Sanctity of Life

  • Scripture Focus: Psalm 139:13-14 – "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

  • Prayer Focus:

    • Pray that America would uphold the sanctity of life, protecting the unborn and the vulnerable.

    • Ask God to change the hearts of voters, that they may value life at every stage, from conception to natural death.

    • Pray for an end to laws and policies that devalue life, and for the passage of legislation that defends the rights of the unborn.

 

3. Pray for Religious Liberty

  • Scripture Focus: Galatians 5:1 – "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."

  • Prayer Focus:

    • Pray for the protection of religious liberty in America, that Christians may continue to freely worship and live out their faith.

    • Pray for boldness in pastors and churches to stand for biblical truth, even in the face of cultural opposition.

    • Ask God to strengthen legal efforts that defend religious freedom and to prevent any laws or policies that infringe upon this God-given right.

 

4. Pray for Unity and Healing in America

  • Scripture Focus: 2 Chronicles 7:14 – "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

  • Prayer Focus:

    • Pray for healing from division, hatred, and violence that has taken root in our nation.

    • Ask God to bring about unity through His Spirit, that America may turn to Him and seek righteousness.

    • Pray for hearts to be softened and for repentance, both individually and nationally, as we seek God’s healing.

 

5. Pray for God’s Will in the Upcoming Election

  • Scripture Focus: Proverbs 21:1 – "The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: He turns it wherever He will."

  • Prayer Focus:

    • Pray that God's will would be done in the election, and that those who lead our nation would reflect His justice and righteousness.

    • Ask for discernment among voters, that they would choose candidates who will uphold biblical values.

    • Pray that churches and Christians would mobilize to vote according to their faith and convictions, and that God's purposes for our nation would be fulfilled.

 

6. Pray for the Church’s Role in America

  • Scripture Focus: Matthew 5:14 – "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden."

  • Prayer Focus:

    • Pray that the church in America would rise up as a beacon of truth and hope in these challenging times.

    • Ask God to empower pastors, church leaders, and congregations to stand for biblical truth and engage in the public square with wisdom and grace.

    • Pray for a revival in the church, that believers would live out their faith boldly and compassionately, influencing culture with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

 

7. Pray for Election Integrity

  • Scripture Focus: Proverbs 12:22 – "The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy."

  • Prayer Focus:

    • Pray that the election process would be carried out with integrity and honesty.

    • Ask God to expose any attempts of fraud or corruption and to protect the integrity of the voting process.

    • Pray that trust in our democratic processes would be restored and that any discrepancies would be swiftly addressed and corrected.

 

8. Pray for Revival and Repentance

  • Scripture Focus: Acts 3:19 – "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."

  • Prayer Focus:

    • Pray for a national revival that turns hearts back to God, beginning with His church and spreading across the land.

    • Ask God to bring people to repentance, that they would recognize their need for salvation and turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and hope.

    • Pray for a powerful move of the Holy Spirit to stir conviction, repentance, and transformation in the hearts of people, leading to lasting change in our nation.

 

9. Thanksgiving for the Freedoms We Enjoy

  • Scripture Focus: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 – "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

  • Prayer Focus:

    • Thank God for the freedom to worship, express our faith, and engage in the public square without fear of persecution.

    • Praise Him for the freedoms granted in our Constitution, and for the wisdom of our nation’s founders who sought to protect those freedoms.

    • Pray that we never take these freedoms for granted, and that we continue to exercise our rights in a way that honors God and builds up our country.

Thank you for joining us in prayer. Together, we stand in faith, trusting that God is sovereign over the outcome of this election and the future of our nation. Let us continue to pray without ceasing, knowing that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective (James 5:16).
