10 Reasons This Is the Time for Christians to Celebrate and Stand

By Collin M. Hain

The 2024 presidential election marks a historic moment for America. Donald Trump has been elected as the next president of the United States, and for the first time in years, the more conservative party holds control of the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives. Adding to this momentous occasion is a Supreme Court with a majority of constitutional conservatives. For Christian leaders, pastors, and churches, this is a time to celebrate and a call to action.

Here are ten reasons why this season presents an unprecedented opportunity for conservative Christians to stand up for biblical values and take bold steps in shaping the course of our nation.

1. Unified Conservative Leadership

For the first time in years, the presidency, Congress, and the Supreme Court are aligned under conservative leadership. This unified control offers a rare and historic opportunity to advance policies that align with biblical values, such as protecting life, strengthening the family, and defending religious liberty. Christians should rejoice in this moment and recognize the potential for meaningful change.

2. A President Who Respects Faith Leaders

President Trump has demonstrated time and again that he values and respects faith leaders. He has surrounded himself with pastors, church leaders, and Christian advisors who are shaping his administration’s agenda. In fact, many of his already announced cabinet and leadership nominations are known evangelicals. In his upcoming term, he has pledged that the White House office faith-based initiatives and outreach will report directly to the Oval Office. This move underscores the importance of Christian voices in this administration.

3. The Overturning of Roe v. Wade

Thanks to the constitutional conservative justices nominated during Trump’s first term, Roe v. Wade has been overturned, returning the issue of abortion “to the people and their elected representatives,” and, by extension, the states. By making abortion a state issue, the Supreme Court has invited Christians to advocate for life in new and impactful ways. With abortion legislation now determined by individual states, Christians can have a stronger voice in shaping laws that protect the unborn. We no longer have to depend on distant federal rulings; instead, we can engage directly with voters, everyday people, to mobilize our communities, and also work to elect local legislators who respect life. This new era of pro-life advocacy demands a strong church presence at the local level. The groundwork has been laid—now is the time to build on this progress.

4. Strengthened Religious Liberty

With a conservative Supreme Court and a supportive administration, religious liberty is being defended like never before. The days of Christians being silenced, marginalized, or forced to act against their conscience are fading. This administration is committed to ensuring that churches and faith-based organizations have the freedom to operate according to their deeply held beliefs.

5. The Opportunity to Shape the Next Generation

Policies enacted during this administration will have lasting effects on the next generation. From education reform to protections for parental rights, Christians now have an opportunity to influence legislation that will shape the moral and cultural fabric of our nation for years to come. Standing up now means securing a better future for our children and grandchildren.

6. A Platform for Biblical Values

This administration has consistently provided a platform for promoting biblical values. Whether through defending traditional marriage, opposing gender ideology, or upholding the sanctity of life, Christians now have a seat at the table. This is the moment to speak boldly and act courageously for the values we hold dear.

7. A Call to Protect the Family

The family is the cornerstone of society, and this administration has pledged to protect it. From combating the indoctrination of children in schools to promoting policies that support families, there is real momentum to address the cultural forces undermining God’s design for the family. Christians must take advantage of this opportunity to stand firm for biblical family values.

8. A Time to Unite and Mobilize

The unity within the conservative movement should inspire unity within the church. With this alignment of government leadership, Christians across denominations can work together where they align to advocate for policies that honor God and build prosperous communities. Pastors and churches have a unique opportunity to lead this charge.

9. A Critical Moment for Engagement

This is not a time for complacency. As Christians, we are called to be salt and light in the world (Matthew 5:13-16). The alignment of government leadership offers a critical moment for believers to engage in the self-government of our nation. This is the time for pastors to encourage their congregations to register to vote, participate in local and national issues, and advocate for truth in the public square.

10. A Renewed Hope for Revival

Above all, this moment reminds us that political victories are only part of the picture. True change begins with revival. The freedom to proclaim the gospel and stand for biblical truth is a gift that we must not squander. As we celebrate this political moment, let us also pray fervently for spiritual renewal across America.

A Time to Celebrate and Stand

As conservative Christians, we have much to celebrate. But celebration must be coupled with action. The alignment of leadership in Washington is a gift, but it also brings responsibility. This is the time for churches to rise up, for pastors to lead boldly, and for Christians across the nation to participate fully in the self-government of our country.

Let us not miss this unique opportunity “increase righteousness,” to stand for what is right and true, to engage with courage and conviction, and to shine the light of Christ in the public square. Together, we can make a difference—for our families, for our churches, and for the nation we love.

"When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan."Proverbs 29:2
